You don't have a router so you get to learn how to setup ICS. http://www.wown.com has all you need to know (which I will not duplicate here) but one thing. Many will install a Firewall before they get ICS working.

Or you can set up a proxy on the PC with the DSL modem.
The one from www.analogx.com is well documented.

A proxy would create a lot of work as you learn how to make it work. ICS would be up and running in about 15 minutes if you went that path and didn't firewall it off the first time.

Hit hard by what?

XP with the patches doesn't have a problem. Also, I can enable ICF and not kill off ICS. It's all covered at www.wown.com so you can get it working.

Zonealarm has it's own support group and you might have to ask them how to configure so proxies and ICS work. I only found it to create more work, not less.

bridging
Jul 16, 2004 12:11AM PDT

says i cant bridge my connections thats the prob iv narrowed it dwn 2 and iv updated all the drivers Sad

You can't bridge.

Bridging is not applicable to what you need to do.

In short, you need a NAT. Which is what ICS does.

Sorry to see you struggle, but my bet is that you firewalled your machine closed and need to fix that, plus get ICS working.
