Dropping network shares after reboot

by Disneyfan / June 16, 2009 7:39 AM PDT

I helped someone setup sharing between their Vista and XP computers via their local network using an old Linksys WRT54G router. They have matching accounts and passwords on each, set to the same workgroup, permissions are set correctly, made sure that the Layer Topology was set on the XP system, passwords are set to off and file and sharing is on for both systems, and I assigned a drive on the XP system to point to the Documents folder on the Vista system. All was right with the world. Then last night, she shutdown both computers and now today cannot access the drive on the Vista system.
