Dropped my Kodak DX4530

Jan 4, 2005 11:44AM PST

Help! I dropped my Kodak DX4530 digital camera and now it powers on for a second then shuts off while still in the on position. Kodak wants between $125-175 to fix the problem!! I am not afraid of opening it up but don't know what to look for. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Dropped Camera

I have never taken a digital camera apart, but I would sure be tempted to if I had one that was dropped.

Digital camera repair is almost always more expensive that people are willing to pay.

I don't know of anyone that has info on taking a camera apart. The camera manufacturers do not release that type of information.

Camera shuts off after being dropped

The problem is that when you dropped the camera the baterries pushed the springs down so the battery connection is not solid. Remove the batteries and use a pair of tweezers to lift the springs at the bottom of where the batteries go. Replace batteries and you should be good to go.
