Question

Dropbox Will Not Re-install On T460p Win10 Pro

Hello all, I have been trying for several days to reinstall dropbox on my Lenovo laptop only to get the following error message:

The installer encountered error 2

Anyone with ideas on how to overcome this error?

Thank you very much for Ninite.com. A great find, for me at least.

Well, upon using them for Dropbox re-installation, I Am sorry to report that they could not do the job either.

I sent a note to them and they indicated, given the error message they could not help!

Thus, I await for Dropbox technical help to respond. I tried just about every suggestion at DB's forum as well.

A few other ideas.

1. Try a new user account. Be sure to have that account be an Administrator account.
2. I've read priors on this and a stock Windows with an admin account should never encounter this error but there are folk with reduced rights, other than admin accounts and that could trigger such an error. That or McAfee. That is, some antivirus suites or "optimizers' can interfere.
