Question

Droid Razr Keeps Crashing!!

Aug 21, 2014 5:57AM PDT

My droid Razr phone keeps crashing randomly! I've had it only a year and it's giving me issues. Last night I picked it up and it wouldn't turn on, no matter how long I held down the button. I plugged it in and it told me I had 47% battery so I assumed it just crashed. Later on last night, I put it down and when I came back, it had crashed again. This bothered me but I was tired so I went to bed. When I woke up, it had crashed again. I'm beginning to get frustrated and I plug it in again. Turns on like usual and it doesn't seem to have problems for a while. So I'm playing a game and once again, it crashes. When I plug it in, it shows me my phone is dead, which makes no sense, seeing how before it crashed I had 94%. So I figure I will try to back up my phone so when I plug it in, it will only let me back up my pictures (Something I don't need) and all i really want to back up is my music, games, and contacts which aren't on the cloud. It doesn't open up my music folders or anything. Only my pictures. Do somebody know what's wrong with my phone and can tell me how to fix it? Or at least tell me how I can back up my files?

The usual idea about backup is to do it while the device you do it on still works. Then you have your files when it breaks down.

When somebody forgets to backup (some people do, even when it's as easy as using the cloud) and needs the data after an event like you experienced, we enter the realm of 'recovery', which is quite another thing.

Troubleshpoting Steps..!!!

Hi,

Try a force reboot

In the unlikely event that your device becomes unresponsive, try a force reboot.

Press and hold the power key + volume down key for 10 seconds to perform a force reboot on the device.

Note: Data on your phone will not be deleted

Tip: If reboot was not successful you should attempt the reboot while connected to a wall charger.

If it doesn't work try this further;

Clear cache partition:

Another option that may correct the problem is clearing your partition.

This will remove any temporary files that may be causing the problem, but will not delete your files or settings.

1. With the phone powered off, press the VOL UP + VOL DOWN KEY together + POWER KEY .

2. The device will display different BOOT OPTIONS

3. Use the VOL DOWN Key to SCROLL to Recovery and VOL UP Key to SELECT

Tip: If the device reboots, you may have waited to long to make a selection. You will need to begin the process again.

4. The device will display the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress ( logo with Exclamation mark)

5. Press and hold the VOL DOWN key for 5-10 seconds

6. While still holding the VOL DOWN key tap and release the VOL UP key.

Tip: You can try this step, holding the phone in landscape. If you are is stuck on step 6, do a force reboot by pressing the power Key and Vol Down key, and start the process again.

7. The device will display additional menu options (Text will appear in BLUE)

8. Use the VOL DOWN Key to scroll to wipe cache partition and the POWER Key to SELECT this option.

9. The device will then perform the partition wipe

10. Once the Formatting is complete, press the POWER key to confirm a REBOOT

11. The device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence .

Hope this helps..!!
