If the songs are from a CD you hold, you should be able to re-rip them into an unprotected form by changing the WMP ripping preferences (under Tools) to plain old WMA, MP3, or WAV. Downloaded songs protected by DRM, and CDs which employ DRM to prevent copying, however, are outside that domain and, due to the DMCA, circumventing such protection cannot legally be discussed.
As to another MP3 player, Winamp is a popular option, as it iTunes.
- Recently bought a phone that plays music files yay well now i find it wont play *.wma files, understandable. Trying to convert the *.wma file to *.mp3 of a cd Im HOLDING IN MY HANDS and every program Ive tried states something about DRM (digital rights) and cant do it. Now Im at a loss for half my library is *.wma.
- Any ideas?
- Also I now need a non bloated new media player for i will never use WMP again.
- Suggestions warmly welcome, venting as well
