DRM and Microsoft and anti-virus and antispyware

Mar 16, 2006 11:41PM PST

I am upset at Microsoft and AV and antispyware and registry programs that I've purchased. When I bought a November 2001 legitimate copy of XP, I assmed I purchased the right to use XP on any subsequent computer. Now Microsoft says I only rented it for that computer only and I must have the same motherboard or repay for a license. Increasingly same thing for other purchased computer software. Does this not bother anyone else? If I upgrade my computer and have paid for software that's still compatible with the newer, faster, better hardware, why do I or anyone else have to repurchase a license for a program I legitimately purchased???
It's not right or fair since I purchased the products honestly in the first place.
