Note: VIA mobo driver is 'universal' regardless of which mobo chipset you have, as long as it's a VIA chipset, of course!
When I used Windows 95, I didn't have to install any separate mobo chipset drivers - Windows installed them from the Windows 95 CD during setup. In fact, I've used all versions of Windows from Windows 3.1 to Windows XP Pro and have never had to install mobo chipset drivers separately. Windows automatically detected the hardware and installed the correct drivers from the CD. However, going to the mobo website allows you to get the latest drivers (though sometimes it's best to stick with the ones you have on an older system to avoid new bugs and other problems. Stick with the default chipset driver installed by Windows setup if it works okay).
I bought an old PC for use as a gaming pc for older games. Anyway I managed to find my specific board online at http://www.thg.ru/mainboard/20000410/print.html its the bottom board. I found one very similar at http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.cfm?articleid=192 but if you look close the battery? on the board is in a different location, I'm sure there are other differences but that was what I used to determine the board I have is the first. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could point out which drivers I could use for this board. Its a VIA VT82C694X/596B chipset, but I didnt know if I needed specific drivers for this board or any drivers for this chipset would work?
