I have an HP Photosmart 1215 printer. Been working fine for a long time until about a month ago. Nothing major changed with system..

During bootup get error message "Unable to start driver for HPHipm09.exe". It seems that this is the last driver the system boots up..

I found out that if I start my web browser or another program before system finishes bootup the driver will load just fine. I've done this several times and every time I start a program, everything loads fine..

I've uninstalled printer and software several times per HP website and it works untill I reboot. Have latest drivers and software HP has on website.

Not sure what to do next..

I have a simular problem. I have Windows XP and Epson 740 printer. The best Epson has for a driver is for Windows 2000. I get a message on my computer that this driver will be unstable and I should go back to the Epson web site and down load a different driver. Epson support tells me that the Windows 2000 driver should work OK. As of now, sometimes my printer works and sometimes it does not. Microsoft and Epson don't seem to help! What can I do?

If a manufacturer doesn't provide drivers for a new windows version, that's it. If the windows 2000 drivers gives your PC some troubles, use it on a PC having an older windows versions. If, by chance you have a home network with an older windows version, install it there share it on the LAN. Otherwise, trade it and buy a new one according with your budget and needs.

P.S. Your problem has nothing in common with this thread except the "printer drivers" . In the future, post the message in a new thread.
