Question

DriverMax says 19 drivers out of date; is it legit?

Jul 13, 2014 2:21AM PDT

I rec'd an email notification fr. cnet.online that a DriverMax update is avail. I downloaded it and ran a scan. It said 19 of my drivers are out-of-date. I have my laptop set for automatic updates. Is this legit? Before I let it do anything, I want to know if this is going to wreck my system. I felt like it was legit from cnet, but now I wonder. Please help? Thanks. BJ

DriverMax suspicions
Jul 13, 2014 10:25AM PDT

Thanks gwrach. I suspected as much, but I was disappointed. For some time, CNET has been one of the few sites I have trusted, and wanted to this time, but with my auto updates from software makers, I felt like something was amiss. When downloading apps and programs, I usually go to CNET,check their reviews, and download from them, so does this mean they will scam me as well? If so, I'm truly disappointed.

There are apps that are ready to scam you. Drivers are things I never update without good reason. Can you share what's up?
