Driver for HSP56 (PCTel) Modem -- Need assistance

Dec 16, 2003 10:31PM PST

Where do I find a download (update) for my HSP56 Modem? I'm getting very low connection speeds (highest is 24,000 bps) and I suspect that I need to update the driver. My phone line supports 56k, and I made the changes Juno suggested, including adding the 'Extra Setting', N0S37=13.

I have a Pentium 2 (Compaq), Windows 9x.

I've been to PCTel.com, who no longer supports it, who then directed me to Conexant.com, and they don't support it. The link I believe that I need at modemhelp.org/inits/ isn't working.

There's a windows9.x link at http://go.to/pctel under HSP Mico Modem column. Is this what is required?

I'm reaching a lot of dead ends, please help if you can.

Sincerely,
Thea

at the prices of modems these days, buying a new one is a lot easier than trying to figure out why. if neither the vendor nor the OEM support it, you are best off getting a new modem with support.

How to install more than one PCTel HSP56 MODEMs.
Feb 9, 2005 8:41PM PST

Is there any one, who knows how to install more than one PCTel HSP56 MODEMs under Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 98 SE.

I tried my best to install more than one MODEM, but failed. Only one MODEM works fine, rest of MODEMs couldn't get any resource inspite of available resources.

Thanks!
