PCL 5e (PCL 5 enhanced) was released on the HP LaserJet 4 in October 1992 and added bi-directional communication between the printer and the PC and Windows fonts.
- the interweb.

Ok since the HP 1005 has a parallel port and understand PCL 5e print codes the hope is to call this a LaserJet 4 (LJ4).

Install a parallel printer card and call the printer on LPt1 a LJ4. Now connect the 1005 on that LPt1 and hope it all works.

http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/6192-hp-laserjet-4-driver.html tells how to get the driver.

The printer server solution.

ADVANCED!!! I will only offer this as a guide.

Install some new Linux like UBUNTU and add the 1005 there then share that printer across the network. CALL THIS PRINTER A LJ4 everywhere.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
