Here's the problem. A few months ago, my (fairly old) laptop's hard drive crashed, so I bought a new, 60 gb drive. Then the laptop screen went glitchy, and to my surprise the same thing happened on an external moniter. I decided that it wasn't a problem with the hard drive, and that the laptop wasn't worth the trouble to keep. I saved the drive and put it in a "usb portable hard disk box" - basically made it a portable drive. The problem was that xp just refused to see it. I tried it on a mac as well, but still no luck. Finally, a vista computer saw it. I installed the right driver, but the computer can't read it. Is there any way to fix this or is the drive just dead?
