Dragon Naturally Speaking 10.1 doesn't work after Windows 7

Jan 26, 2010 7:26AM PST

I cannot use DNS Preferred 10.1 after installing Windows 7. Error message is: "The user files you have selected cannot be accessed because you do not have sufficient privileges to use them or because they are currently accessed by another process."

This sort of message is often resolved by uninstalling such an app and installing it again.

Going insane my first messages were does not work in elevated mode I tried following advice but that wouldn't work then downloaded 10.1 from nuance now I get

error code 1 when attempting to load C:/users/Adminl~1/appdata/Local/Temp/{E7712E53-7A7F-46EB-AA13-70D5987D30F2}/mobile.dllintomemory

Yikes I'm disabled and trying to work and about to smash it all up.

DNS 10.1 and Windows 7
Feb 12, 2010 3:40AM PST

Go to Nuance.com and find a phone number to reach technical support for DNS. Then, demand to get this resolved without paying for it. I did. Told them I received Windows 7 upgrade offer when I bought a computer last July. But Win 7 did not arrive until mid-November. Because of illness, I did not install until January 2010, so in reality, the 90-day technical support coverage doesn't begin to run until Win 7 was installed. Tech person was most helpful. The solution was relatively simple and has to do with changing permissions in several places. Sorry, but I cannot recall the steps. Good luck.
