General discussion

Downloads and Ecommerce

Basically i want my customers to pay for their software and then be able to download it straight away. Also it has to be secure so that they cannot just find the directory with all the files in and have access to all the programs. Im thinking encryption would help there.

Does anybody have any tips or guides?

Thanks in advance.

What I use
May 12, 2005 6:53PM PDT

I have a thank-you page that can only be reached by my payment processor(or in test mode for my testing). I use payloadz.com which uses paypal IPN. The IPN landing page goes to dl-filemame.php which gives the link to the actual file. Direct access to this page gives a sorry try again message instead. I would need to find where I found this(may have been hotscripts.com), but the actual script I use is secret as I have my own tweaks in it. The folder that the download is located uses mod-rewrite to protect from access outside of my domain.

Go for Oscommerce script. Its a good one. It supports many payment gateways.
