The plague of spyware is widely out of control. This effect it too similar to the machines I see with NETSTATT.EXE running. End task that and try again.
If you use Internet Explorer exclusively, the pain will continue.

Have used webshots for years - no problems.
New pc appears to download webshots, but doens't recognize it as a new file or program. Double clicking produces a quick black box where webshots should be and then disappears.
What I've tried:
repeated installations
disabled firewall
disabled any security re: cookies
gone into options/file type/added WBZ for webshots
exec
bought a new zip program
contacted webshots for help - they have no idea tho
they don't want to say that
Anyone recognize this particular problem or have any
suggestions? Would appreciate as I really enjoy the
screensavers, personal photos, and management of same from webshots.
Run windows home XP on relatively new pc - athlon 2800,
120gb hard drive, 512 ram, cd burner - can't think of
anything else relevant. Oh, don't have word processor
of any kind installed yet if that matters.
