Frankly I can't use movie maker at all. It's content seems to be locked into some proprietary encoding so I can't use that.
I just bought a Canon HV20. I knew that I needed to get a firewire card for my PC (Windows XP) and a firewire connector; however, I thought that there would be some video software (and documentation) included. Apprently not...
So can I simply get the firewire card installed, buy the connector and use Windows Movie Maker? Neither the HV20 manual, nor the Windows Movie Maker Help seem to explain exactly how this works (OK, maybe it does and I'm just missing something)...
I'm not looking to do anything fancy - just cut video down to a reasonable size for emailing (no effects, ...).
