downloading stalls

I'm trying to add updates to my HP Pavilion 554e desktop, so that I can install the Windows SP 2. I need the SP2 to get iTunes to work. The SP2 will not complete a download, after several attempts. The HP site tells me to update the HP software first; however, the service packs take several minutes to dl & then they stall. I wonder if it is because the updates are older, since I purchased the compter over 3 years ago. I have a cable modem & all other programs work well. Can you help? Thank you.

But I managed to solve it after freeing up space on my hard drive. Additionally, you may wish to clear the temporary files, run spyware and virus scans, and so on. Finally, make sure you actually have the other, older updates installed, too. To erase unnescesary files, you can go into START - PROGRAM FILES - ACCESSORIES - SYSTEM TOOLS - DISK CLEANUP

Hope this helps

Jme, Try Installing It This Way...

Download the full SP2 installer file from the link below. (It's a large file, about 266 MB, so you'll need a broadband connection.) Once it's downloaded to your computer, burn a backup copy with a CD-burner so you can use it later if need be.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Full Download

Once that's done, follow the procedures in the link below, then run the installer file.

It should do the job for you.

Hope this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
