downloading printer driver onto new Acer Aspire One netbook

by lynneriordan / March 24, 2009 9:26 PM PDT

Help! I've been trying to download a printer driver for my Konica Minolta 2400 Magicolour printer onto my new Acer netbook. I've been saving it in the 'programs' folder but, although it says its downloaded successfully, it's not appearing in the programs list. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, and I need to be able to print something urgently!

HUGE THANKS to anyone who's willing to advise this NOVICE!

It needs installed...
by John.Wilkinson / March 25, 2009 12:08 AM PDT

What you downloaded is the installer for the software/drivers, not the software/drivers itself. You need to double-click that downloaded installer to execute it, letting it install the software/drivers for your printer accordingly. You may be prompted to reboot to complete the installation; after it completes you may delete the downloaded installer if you wish.

Hope this helps,
John

downloading installer for pri nter driver

In reply to: It needs installed...

Thanks very much John. Still confused I'm afraid - the download from Konica was c. 54 different files (which I tried to put into a new programs folder and failed miserably). I can easily download them again, since I can't find them anywhere now, but am I right in thinking that one of these will be the install one that I need to double right click on?

THANK YOU for your patience!

-> The downloads can be found by clicking here.
-> Download the file and double-click it to launch the extractor. Extract the files to any location you choose.
-> Go to that location and double-click the file Setup.exe, which has a printer icon.
-> The installer will launch and guide you through the short process of installing the software/drivers.

Hope this helps,
John
