I am interested in downloading a free anti-rootkit program. Several of them, however, including the AVG program I am considering, have a posting date from 2007. Because it seems that new computer problems are generated every day, I am concerned that these programs will be ineffective. Are older programs worth downloading? I have used AVG in the past with good results, but am open to other product suggestions. Thank you.
