Question

downloading movies to external hard drive

May 22, 2011 11:01AM PDT

I brought a 320 GB hd which the sales person said i could use as a memory stick so i could down load movies to then plug it into my DVD player thou the usb connection and watch them on my TV . but when i transfered movies to the hd drive then plug it into my DVD player it showed up as unknown format. I have a small 4 GB stick which i have been using which works on all my set top boxes and all my 3 DVD players with usb connections. so if some one can help please it would be much appreciated

The issue could be that this disk is formatted NTFS, while these USB-sticks are formatted FAT32 and your TV only recognizes the FAT32 format.
- What does the manual of the TV say?
- How is the disk formatted?
- What does the sales person say, when asked?
