Downloading Incredimail

Jan 15, 2011 7:57AM PST

I have used it for years. It would not open easily for about a week and then stopped completely. I tried to download \incredimail2. It downloaded, but would not open. I got the message 'the application tray stopped working.' Then, I got a second message saying 'there was a critical error and the application had to close.'

There's the answer. However, it was on this computer. How do I go back to 32 bit?

requires that you completely re-install Vista using the 32 bit OS DVD then re-install all the applications.

Since I find many people who tell me they have 64 bit Windows on their new computer when they actually have 32 Bit Windows but a 64 bit processor double check your Windows version as follows:

Click Start, type system in the Start Search box, and then click system in the Programs list.
The operating system is displayed as follows:
For a 64-bit version operating system: 64-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.
For a 32-bit version operating system: 32-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.

You say "However, it was on this computer."

Does that mean that under your currently installed OS the earlier version of Incredimail was running OK? If so try UNINSTALLING Incredimail then re-install that earlier version and see what happens.

I have done that for incredimail xe. However, it opens to my in-box and shuts down right away. I will try again.

It is a 64-bit system.

I am on holiday - well, in England lecturing on John Henry Newman. I need to get to my e-mail other than by webservice.

Every time i try to open i get one of 2 messages 'application tray did not work' or, a 'critical error has occurred and this session cannot continue.'

This is so frustrating. I am going to contact Toshiba and see if they can help. Incredimail and Windows have been useless. I leave my cards in the hotel safe - in this case with the Porter at the College I am at in Oxdford.
