i am a newbie and 61. my daughter gave me my first computer with 15 hard drive and windows me 18 months ago. i wondered what the hell am i going to do with this. well, guess what, i have the bug. i now spend 12-14 hours a day on my computer. i bought myself this new computer 1 month ago. it is a dual core 320gb 3gb hard drive. i love it. i have tried to download this free software (greenprint world 1 ) 10 times but for some reason it starts and then stops. i delete every effort and try again but no joy. i have vista premium. may be some of you guys could give me some advice. i have learnt so much from your site. i now know how to defragment a disc, go into recovery and anything else needed to keep my computer in good running order. i would appreciate any suggestions that you guys can give me.

Re: error downloading a game

Assuming that you've learned enough the last 2 years to mean "downloading" when you say "downloading", and not something else as some other members do, my advice is to try to download the same game on another PC (say, with your daughter or family or friends) to your USB-stick and install from there on your own computer.

If it doesn't work there either, it's probably an error on the download site.

Try downloading direct from the publisher ...
by Edward ODaniel / February 6, 2008 9:49 AM PST

If you are using any "download accelerator" try disabling it. ALSO be sure you delete both your Internet Cache and your system's TEMP directory BEFORE attempting a second download because most all downloads are cached on your hard drive and are not always replaced by the fresh download so you end up trying to install the exact same damaged installer package every time.

They also have a support link on that page above if the issue continues.
