Resolved Question

downloading CD's to my imac

Sep 11, 2011 8:01AM PDT

I downloaded a CD of my granddaughters ballet recital but can't find it! I have an imac os x. I clicked on DVD when it popped up but nothing happened and it might have been the wrong choice. What should I have done? Where would I look just in case it did download?

CD and DVD are two different things and are played using different applications.

copy of ballet recital

Many copies were made of the recital and the parents bought them.
I downloaded it into my imac and different lists came up and I clicked on DVD and nothing happened.
Can't remember what the others read.
When I put it in, there was nothing but the sound of it downloading and I assumed it would just show up and I would hit play.
Unfortunately, my son took the copy home, so I will have to wait until the next time when he can bring it back.
My music CD's download with no problem.
I am sure it is in my computer somewhere but finding it is a mystery.

It should not be on your computer anywhere

the contents of the DVD would not have automatically moved from the DVD onto your Mac.

What you probably heard was your optical drive trying to read the disk.

Did the disk ever appear on the desktop?

Downloading usually means that you transfer data from the internet to your computer and this is not what you did.

I put a Dora in the computer and it worked fine and it did show up on my desktop.
I will just have to wait until I get the recital again and then maybe I will see what I should have done.
