Download stops

Hi,
I have a problem with downloading a file above roughly 80MB it just stops I tried chrome,firefox and opera and nothing works. On Firefox and Chrome the download just stops on Opera the speed changes to unknown and it stops downloading. I don't have a wireless connection I use modem and my net connection should be okay since on my old comp with same net it worked without problem.
My guess would be it's some cache problem,maybe it doesn't let me save that big file, but I don't know how to fix it.
I have a windows 7.

That sounds like someone has instituted some kind of packet shaping on your Internet connection. That absolutely sounds like something that is on the server side of things. So I'd say your first stop here should be with whomever manages your Internet connection.

But my sister has the same net connection and it works for her and it works on my old comp. Also when I download through torrent it works.

downloading with cnet for O2jam installer. the downloader already downloaded the same size (121.6mb / 121, 6mb) then it never stops and now it is stunned at 92 percent and noting happens as i wait for it Sad

Sorry, missed this reply until now. In that case, there's something installed on your computer that is preventing you from completing the download, and it'll have to fall on you to root it out and eliminate it.

However, since you mention this is a torrent download, the odds are overwhelmingly in favor of whatever it is you're downloading, being illegal. So you may want to consider this a blessing in disguise before some law enforcement agency comes knocking on your door, or a letter informing you that someone has filed a lawsuit against you arrives. Given the new information in this post, I'm going to assume that you're still a minor living at home with his parents, in which case THEY would be the ones who have to pay as they are your legal guardians. They take legal responsibility for your actions until you turn 18. So unless you're downloading a Linux distribution or know for a fact that what you're downloading is legal to distribute, you should assume it's not.

But I have a brand new comp so there shouldn't be anything installed. Could it be related to the amount of memory cache or disk cache?
I am not talking about illegal download I am talking about any download at all.
But that's not true at least in my country torrents are illegal because you offer stuff to other people to download. When you simply download that's legal.
