Download problems

Hi, I have just got back from vacation and turned my PC on and noticed that when it was loading up a message came up saying WLAN configuration error, I didn't really take much notice of it at first but then I tried to download the new podcasts from Zune Marketplace and it didn't let me saying there was a unknown error. I then went to the website that has the podcast download page and tried to download it, it downloaded but dissaperard from my PC, so i tried again and saved it to my desktop but after a couple of seconds of being there it disappeared.

I then went to and tried downloading Firefox 3.0 and the same thing happened, then just about 1 hour ago my Internet Explorer started working really slow and took around 1 minute to load google, I then used the Safari browser and this works fine for browsing but it won't let me download anything.

I am connected to a WiFi connection SMC and on the bottom right next to the time on the computer icon if I hover my pointer over it it says " Currently connected to SMC Access: Local and Internet" with 5 full green bars.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on a Compaq Presario SR5414 -

My router is a SMC -

I have cable broadband with a virgin media modem.

Can you help me? Thank you
