I'm assuming you are using this site: http://music.download.com/?tag=navtab . You do not need to have an account to download music, only if you are an artist who wants to upload their songs. Find the song or artist you're looking for and see if they have any free songs. You can only download certain songs that have a "download free mp3" button next to them. This should open a download window. I hope this answers your question!-V.

http://trackrack.org/ Absolutely legal & free program. Install it on your computer & download as many gigs of music as you like. Then you can transfer the mp3 files to any of your devices or burn them on CD, etc.

Not Free....And...
Aug 21, 2015 1:44PM PDT

...because they only look for "open" servers of free music, not all music is available. Hopefully you also noted that this thread is about 7 years old.. The original poster has been here since then. This one looks a little like SPAM to me.

To read about why it's not "free" for all music, see the link to their site below:

http://trackrack.org/FAQ

You'll note the "Paying for this program, you get the rights for all the music you have downloaded with TrackRack." line in the first item. Easily stated, most artists expect to get paid for their songs and unless the downloading company doesn't pay, then you must.

It appears as though you can download some music but as to it being "free" or "legal" depends on a lot of things.

Hope this helps.

in the news now and the recording industry is fighting any software or sites with free downloads so this is a real iffy area.
