So, I have a brand new computer with Visa Premium Home edition.

And it is driving me bat-crap crazy. It took me forever to get the hidden administrator account active so that I could dowload iTunes, AIM, whatever.

Well, tried right clicking to run the setup as the administrator. Still no luck. I get this message: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or is the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnele for assistance.

I'm positive I am missing something somewhere.

Normally the hidden adminstrator account is used for "Last minute resort" on safe mode.

Try Creating a Administrative Account. If it was a brand new computer with vista - it normally goes through step 2 of setting up the main account and choose the name , password etc. This is account you use to start from. Try Setting Up a Administrive Account From Within the hidden account.

Make Sure You have all the Windows & Microsoft Updates, JAVA Updated & Flash. Try Installing Itunes. Also Try Saving The File , Right Click on it and select "Run As Administrator".
