Question

Downgrade to Windows7

Nov 22, 2012 11:43PM PST

Hi everyone, I recently bought a samsung series 5 ultra touch ultrabook with windows 8 pre-installed. I realized that I don't really like windows 8 and I was wondering if anyone knew a way to downgrade to windows 7. Thanks.

Hi nchecker,

At this time, for most if not all of our laptops that ship with Windows 8 have only the drivers for Windows 8. Therefore, if you want to downgrade, realize that Samsung won't be able to furnish you with drivers, as we are focused on supporting Windows 8 for the near future. However, you'll still be able to find them from the component manufacturers after some digging.

That said, here are the instructions on how to downgrade: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=415842

Microsoft is pushing this harder than they did Vista.

I see a few folk have jumped ship at Microsoft. Rats.
