downgrade from vista to xp

hi, i have a lenovo x60s laptop and os is windows vista. i dont like the vista so i am planning to install an XP OS to it.

Does anybody know how i can perform a complete format so that i can downgrade my current OS to windows XP? i tried booting my XP cd but it wont perform an installation. it just says something like there is no hard drive available/cant be seen. can anyone help me? thanks!

Remember XP doesn't know about SATA drives.

Please use the former replies in this forum about changing the BIOS in regards to SATA and getting all the drivers from lenovo.com. If you do that then we can chat about what's stopping you and not a repeat of the same questions.

Important first step

An important first step, that is so often forgotten by people in a rush to install XP, is to make sure that there are XP drivers for all their hardware. This is not always the case with newer systems that shipped with Vista.

Without XP driver support, this whole issue is dead in the water.
