DOS problem, cannot enter new data

May 4, 2006 12:26AM PDT

My friend and I are both still running an old DOS program used to manage a dental office. Mine still works fine but suddenly he is unable to enter new data into his. The file in question (that the data would be entered into) is roughly 25 MB. The error message returned is 02-T1 which according to the manual means "I/O error-An error uccurred during disk read/write. Check for disk hardware failure." T1 points to the 25 MB data file.
Any ideas gratefully accepted.

If this is Clipper based...

The filesize for some items did stop working in the 20 to 20 megabyte range. For us we figured that to be some 10 years or more of data so we never considered it to be a big problem as we were already updating to a new windowy version. This gave people 10 years to upgrade.

What is Clipper?

Sorry but I am not familiar with Clipper. My program is still a good one. If I compact the file can I keep entering data into it?
