DOS not running in Fullscreen - XP on virtualbox

by gkns / December 28, 2008 10:55 PM PST

Friends,

I recently installed XP on virtualbox(Vista-Home Premium Host).
XP is running in the full screen resolution after installing the virtualbox guest additions. But now the problem is when i now run the CMD. and press Alt+Enter. then it goes to a fullscreen mode but the dos screen is not filling the full screen area. The whole purpose for me to try XP is to do BGI programming with TC++ as vista does'nt support this.
And I cannot install XP on my laptop as the BIOS doesnt have the option to disable native SATA mode. (I had 2 unsuccessful tries at Slipstreaming SATA drivers with XP and installing.(It just did'nt work)).
Sys Config:

HP DV2700
NVIDIA Geforce 5400FS 128MB
2GB RAM

Can you please suggest me a solution ?

We have an old application that must be maintained. For that programmer we supply them an older generation machine to do exactly what you noted.

It's nearly a free ride as you see such hardware on freecycle weekly.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
