Don't buy LG TVs!

I have my 55" LG 'smart' TV for exactly 1 year and 6 months when it died. I almost never watch TV, so it was rarely used. LG says they'll extend the warranty and fix it, IF I can give them a receipt. The manufacture date on the back of the TV was less than 2 years old when I called, so it's not like its possible that the TV was ancient. Who keeps receipts for TVs? I'm 50 years old and have had dozens of TVs over the years. This is the first time I've had a TV fail, rather than just trading up and giving the old one away. Never again LG.

But they did make an offer so next time why not keep the receipt? It's the new thing among others.

I keep the receipt along with the other paperwork (such as the user manual or installation instruction or warranty documents) as long as I have electronic stuff or until it's really, really old and I'm doing some tidying up a too full drawer with those papers.

You never know when you need it, so why throw away?

Have a look in our Samsung forum, and you'll see so many posts about bad quality and service, that I'm sure you'll never buy a Samsung either.
What will it be next time?
