Donnie, Donnie, Donnie....STOP! you're killin' me

Trump won't wear a mask because "it will send the wrong message"

What message was HIS good friend, Boris Johnson, from the UK sending when he was hospitalized(knocking at death's door) with Covid 19?

Almost a month ago I posted (to you, I think)
May 7, 2020 2:05PM PDT

a link to an interview where he admitted the motive was personal vanity.
Told people it wouldn't look good for him to be seen by dignitaries wearing one behind the Desk.
Which is also the only motive that matches his personality, on display for some 70 years now. And four to go maybe.

You may be right.
Cases up almost everywhere in the US except NY. Several states getting ready to unlock, in part because many people have unlocked themselves. Cause and effect?
No mask; using his bully pulpit to disparage distancing-; outright lies about his "leadership"; he and his appointees pushing Snake Oil. The Real Scientists under the bus. The Buck Stops Here, doesn't it?
You can still move northward from where you are, right?
RUN, BILL!!!

"Trump administration buries detailed CDC advice on reopening"
Excerpt:
"The Trump administration has been closely controlling the release of guidance and information during the pandemic spurred by a new coronavirus that scientists are still trying to understand, with the president himself leading freewheeling daily briefings until last week."

Fuller coverage; missteps on both sides it seems.
The base story remains. The appropriate scientists- hard and soft- did their jobs, but the results didn't meet expectations of the non-scientists. Those, called politicians in some quarters or swamp dwellers in others, suppressed the science.
The (un)coverage was supplied by the MSM, with the usual ring of truth. Proof: the politicians, also called swamp dwellers by some, are even now backstepping toward disclosure.

The other night a local station had extensive coverage of the Governor's press conference on easing the NM lockdown. There are four criteria to be met before that can happen. All were mentioned, with most emphasis and 'splainin' on the two that are exceeded or almost met. Two others not yet up there. My impression is that these four are the same as those coming out of CDC. Sounded serious, but having the best knowledge was comforting, as it always is.

'Doubling rate' was mentioned also. That's different in each pandemic because of the variables- agent, location, mitigation etc.
However, each rate leads to another number: In NM, where the rate is lower than many, each new infection will lead to 27 new cases by the time its over.

'Sorry to hear you're sick, Dr Fauci. Anything I can do for you?'
'Yes, Mr President. You can take your foot off the oxygen hose.'

So there is a New Brunswick! Who knew?
May 7, 2020 6:52PM PDT

I thought it was mythical, like New Mexico.
Next you'll be telling me there's really a L'Anse aux Meadows or that they play hockey in Anaheim.
