General discussion

Donald Rumsfeld, The CIA, NSA, and alphabet agencies

May 8, 2006 5:50PM PDT

Is there some new kind of scandal in the USA at the moment?

Caught a glimpse of Donald Rumsfeld on one of
the American news services and he looked like
he was yelling at people asking questions.

And they made mention of the FBI nd CIA in turmoil or falling apart.

Are they really in such a bad state?

What is really going on here guys? or have the
news services only spun their version of events?

It looked like they were trying to make it look
like he lied about the Iraq war...

Priorites

It's been more than three years since the war in Iraq began, and the rebuilding of the country drags on ... with fraud and delays still the norm. But there is one project that is set to meet its deadline ... one that is far more ambitious than any other to date.

It's the new U.S. embassy, now under construction in Baghdad. When completed, the embassy -- which some are calling "George W's Palace" -- will be the biggest American embassy in the world sprawling over a hundred acres and larger than Vatican City. It will contain the country's largest swimming pool, as well as American fast food chains. And it will be surrounded by a 15-foot-thick wall.Planners say it will be visible from outer space.

The U.S. State Department says much of the project is top secret, and has refused interview requests. But if you're in Baghdad, the construction of the new embassy is hard to miss.Larry Kaplow is a reporter with Global Radio News in Baghdad and we briefly heard from him.

As he said, some Iraqis are enviously eyeing the new embassy for the many things it has that they don't like water, electricity and security. The office of the U.S. Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction is responsible for overseeing the re-building of Iraq and Ginger Cruz is its Deputy Inspector General. She was in Washington, D.C.

OK...so when you say:
May 10, 2006 6:11AM PDT

''There are ALWAYS other means such as sanctions and
cutting off supply routes...''

...and you apply that to all wars...so when the Japanese have a whole fleet of Aircraft Carriers, Battle Ships, Troop Carriers, etc etc etc...headed for your place...well, you get the question...just let 'em go, HUH?....and you say ''ALWAYS''??? Jeeesh, How naive can you be?

If you believe that, good luck. Read where from Mohammed to bin Laden has said their work will not be done until everyone in the world has been converted to Islam or killed. So, do you go quietly into the night or fight?

Iraq does not equal WWII. This is neo-con spin.
Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11.
If the current administration believes this; it is either incompetent or delusional.

Where's Osama?
How many #3 terrorists are there? We capture one when the people need 'good news' in the WOT. The war on terror will never end. This allows the current administration to rule using fear to divide OUR country.

Go to a VA hospital and see the outcome of the Iraq war. Unless you have sacrificed a loved one in war; take the lipstick off this pig.

Bookmark this statement: The current administration will go down in history as the worst since our republic was founded.

Don't forget to go to a recruitment center if you want to join the fight.

We've seen this rant countless times. Your opinion is noted.

No one thinks or says that Iraq is WW II, but there are certain similarities and all wars are comparable on some level. No one thinks or says that Iraq caused 9/11. It is just a myth of the left that anyone does.

The rest of it borders on paranoia. I doubt very much that We capture one when the people need 'good news' in the WOT. Got any more conspiracy theories for us? Where's Osama? Haven't caught him yet. Takes a while. Look at other fugitives throughout history.

If you think this Adminstration is the worst in our history, you don't know history. But you are entitled to your opinion. I won't be bookmarking it.

Maybe NOW, but back then

The impact of Bush linking 9/11 and Iraq

WASHINGTON ? In his prime-time press conference last week, which focused almost solely on Iraq, President Bush mentioned Sept. 11 eight times. He referred to Saddam Hussein many more times than that, often in the same breath with Sept. 11.

Bush never pinned blame for the attacks directly on the Iraqi president. Still, the overall effect was to reinforce an impression that persists among much of the American public: that the Iraqi dictator did play a direct role in the attacks. A New York Times/CBS poll this week shows that 45 percent of Americans believe Mr. Hussein was "personally involved" in Sept. 11,

right after Sept. 11, 2001, when Americans were asked open-ended questions about who was behind the attacks, only 3 percent mentioned Iraq or Hussein. But by January of this year, attitudes had been transformed. In a Knight Ridder poll, 44 percent of Americans reported that either "most" or "some" of the Sept. 11 hijackers were Iraqi citizens

In Selma, Ala., firefighter Thomas Wilson supports going to war with Iraq, and brings up Sept. 11 himself, saying we don't know who's already here in the US waiting to attack. When asked what that has to do with Iraq, he replies: "They're all in it together - all of them hate this country." The reason: "prosperity."

a preemptive invasion, installing an occupying force, or having our grandchildren pay for the casualties of Iraq.

The mantra of the current administration, repeated over and over, regardless of facts is required to spoon-feed their supporters. We have heard the same speech verbatim for over three years.

How to find Osama according to the current plan. We'll keep it simple so all may follow. Let's pretend he was in the USA; last seen in New Hampshire. Get your posse together and immediately force march to Texas. Arrest the governor and cause chaos throughout the state. No WMD, don't worry the oil will pay for our aimless adventure. Besides, we will just leave the mess for the next guy. We were always able to let mommy and daddy get us out of trouble.

Does anybody wonder why he is not a pilot?

As you notice it's always better to avoid the hard questions.

Did you reply before going to the VA or did you get in that long line at the recruitment center?

1. Where? I don't see any personal attacks on you. On the other hand, you came on rather strong and nasty.

2.Who said that? Drivel.

3.Huh?

4.He IS a pilot. You don't know what you are talking about. This issue has been dealt with ad nauseam.

5.What plan? You are aware that the US government made the capture of Osama a priority long before Bush was in office? Bush at least dismantled Al Quaeda and the Taliban and put bin Laden on the run.

6.Who said that? HOW DOU YOU KNOW who has done what?

7.So? It's a problem. Oh, I know, Bush's fault. Do you think the Taliban should have been left in power?

8.Doubt it.

9.For you maybe. You have not exhibited much tolerance with those who disagree with your point of view.

10.What on earth is that supposed to mean? Drivel level very high.
