1. Click Start, Search, All Files and Folders, More Advanced Options, enter a check in Search Hidden Files and Folders, Search System Folders, and Search Subfolders. Type ie.inf in All or Part of the File Name box, select C: in the Look In drop-down menu or the letter of the hard drive containing the Windows folder, and then click the Search button. I have been forced to use Mozilla as my browser instead of IE, which is no big deal, except for the fact I can't seem to get IE to work any more and there are some web sites that don't recognize Mozilla/Netscape (Shock to me). Anyway, opend some stupid email from someone 6 or 7 times removed from one of my regualar email pals and all of a sudden I got a "spy ware" popup saying all kinds of stuff. Ever since then, my default start up page for IE has been the spyware website. I removed the IE software per Win xp, and uninstalled all related programs. Then I downloaded IE but it won't allow me to install it because it says my computer already has IE on it, yet I can't find it anywhere.
Microsoft is no help...they won't even return an email on this matter. Because of my work, I need IE to download stuff from certain sites that won't recognize Mozilla....can anyone help?
