It's a third party calculated guess about what a search engine will think of your site. So it doesn't influence the page rank at all, because google and microsoft in their ranking algorithm don't use it.

If your site get backlinks from high DA sites it will increase your ranking, So that is a HUGE advantage of DA in SEO.

Another thing if your site has a good DA then its most likely that other sites with high DA will link to you. Hopefully you can understand what I am trying to say.

Domain Authority- A Website's Score Earned Through Good SEO
Jul 8, 2016 5:26AM PDT

It's a tool developed by Moz that measures score (0-100) for a website to predict that how it'll rank on search engines. The criteria behind this measurement that influence SEO ranks is MozRank, number of total links, MozTrust and linking root domains.
To get better domain authority, one should focus on building high quality backlinks (from high DA websites).

Clear & Easy DA Explained
Aug 10, 2016 5:20AM PDT

DA is Domain Authority, which is invented by Moz SEO tools. So, DA (Domain Authority) is nothing but the value of your domain for search engines and the value of your domain is decided on different metrics. Like how good content your website has and how many good referral links your website has and how active/ or socially engaged your website is and many more. After calculating all the terms and their predefined values a tool gives some weightage to that domain and that weightage or value called as Domain Authority for Moz and Domain Rank for ahrefs.

So they call that thing with different names but the logic behind it is same. In past, google also used calculate website values in such way and it was called as PR (Page Rank) that time. They recently announced that we not updated the toobar which provides PR stats of website for users.

Domain Authority is a parameter designed by Moz. It is a metric where the value is calculated for a domain with 1 being the lowest and 100 being the highest. Higher the domain authority, greater the credibility of the website. Having backlinks from websites with high DA values increases your website's chances of improving DA. Again, if you have a high DA, there is an increased possibility of other websites trying to get backlinks from yours. So, DA has a good amount of value from an SEO perspective.
