Does Time Warner DVR require 2 way communication?

Nov 30, 2005 1:41PM PST

I am using a Leviton 6 way video splitter/amplifier (2GHz) to split my cable signal coming into my house. The amp says its designed for Cable modems, Digital cableTV etc. I have been using this for over 1 year with no problems to my cable modem or TV. The only issue I have had is the HD DVR from Time Warner. The video playback has been unreliable. Does the DVR function of the cable box require a 2 way communication? Ulitmately, do you think the video amplifier I'm using has anything to do with the DVR issues? I spent $180 on this high end amp and thought it would do the job. Thanks.
