And it was 35 bucks. Yes it was a refurb but it doesn't matter. It was 320GB, USB 2.0 and I formatted it in NTFS. Now that the current Apple OS reads and writes NTFS I was done. (for 35 bucks.)
Bob
I am in need of an external hard drive in order to transfer and store large video files, but I can't seem to find one that fits the following requirements:
both windows & mac compatible
320+ GB storage
no file size transfer limit
no power cord required (desired, but not required, it's just be nice)
With drives I have been looking at and forums I have run across, it appears that the mac/windows compatibility part is what is limiting the file size transfer limit. They say that you can reformat your drive to have no limits on file sizes, unfortunately that turns it into "read only" for macs, but I need it to be readable both directions. I need to transfer extremely large files from windows to mac and then back from mac to windows. Does this type of drive exist? Because I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Please help!
