Does the Samsung 40" 6 Series MU 6290 TV have Bluetooth?
If so what is the code for the service menu? I want to use a Bluetooth keyboard and head phone set.
Thank you

Hello!

Based on what I'm seeing on our website, this unit does not have Bluetooth capabilities.

It's a bit more complicated that this.

Bluetooth has what we call profiles. You not only need the Bluetooth radio in the TV but the code inside needs to support the mouse and keyboard profile. This is pretty easy to find out. Check the product pages to see if Samsung mentions keyboard and mouse support on Bluetooth. If not, it's not a matter of the service manual but missing computer code in the TV.

wanted to check the service menu

Thank you for addressing my question. I wanted to check the service menu to see if Bluetooth is listed and if it is on or off. All of the access codes (button sequences) that I have tried do not allow access.

If the product doesn't have Bluetooth

Service manual won't help. If you want a wireless keyboard and mouse I can give a nod to the Logitech K400 series.

Bluetooth on mu6290
Jan 18, 2018 3:26AM PST

It's not officially supported, but if you google "service menu" or "secret menu" with your model number and "bluetooth," you can find some tutorials detailing how to active BT for your TV (but be careful and don't mess with any other settings unless you know what you're doing!).

I have the 40" mu6290 (which Samsung says doesn't have bluetooth), but I was able to successfully enable BT and use my LG BT headphones without any issues so far (3 months of usage after activating.) But it may be similar to how some CPU's have cores locked because they're defective, so YMMV.

Enable Bluetooth

Any chance you could provide detail on the process for enabling bluetooth on the MU6290? And if this isn't possible, does adding bluetooth via USB dongle work at all? (I just got an MU6290 and haven't tried anything yet re: bluetooth but would like to have it.) Thanks.

Help!
Apr 8, 2018 4:35AM PDT

I have skull candy wireless headphones and the MU6290 55'. I enabled BT through the "secret" menu, but for some reason my TV can't find the headphones when they're in pairing mode. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the missing profile I wrote about.

Also, we can't know if Samsung implemented the connection from the audio to the Bluetooth Audio Profile since it wasn't in the product specs to begin with.

At this point you've proven again this is not a sure thing.

Consider some audio Bluetooth sender next time.

Answer
Yes, but you must unlock it in the service menu

MU6290 and MU3000 are essentially the same units. The only difference being that the MU3000 comes with a bluetooth remote and has all of its features and bluetooth enabled in the service menu. You can unlock bluetooth and the smart remote's features by carefully following the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2u9k2MD7Ds, but be forewarned that it may void your warranty.
