The policy changes with the seasons so my answer will always be wrong. But they do disconnect...

Hi, I'm using PeoplePC right now, and I have to say: It is the single worst dial-up I have ever come across in my lifetime. I live in an area where we can't get any kind of high speed internet except satellite which is sorely overpriced.
I'm just wondering : Does Earthlink disconnect you after a certain number of hours? PeoplePC disconnects me after 4 hours which is fine since I don't mind reconnecting if I'm ever on that long, however; I recently tried to update an online game overnight and of course, my internet speed is so slow, the update will take much longer than 4 hours.
Thanks for any help,
Ayda

I did speak with a rep on the phone a little while ago, she apparently believes Earthlink should not disconnect automatically at all, unless it is in your settings to do so. But it seems it still does I guess. Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to try it and hope for the 12 hours. Thanks
