Does anyone know of imaging editing software that will allow me to divide an original image into uniform rectangles which can each then be printed in a larger size, say A-4? While there are lots of jig-saw and puzzle-making programs, I can't find one that will allow me to create a collage of uniformly-sized elements larger than the original.

I did the following. I would resize the image (DPI, size, etc) with IRFANVIEW and then print it at 1:1 size and let it print out the sheets then cut and paste the whole thing on the wall because we didn't have a wide 36 or 48 inch printer.

Would that do the trick?

Thanks for your suggestion.
I have since found a piece of free software (Posteriza) which really does exactly what I want - and very simply too. I'd recommend it.

Check your printer settings. My Canon allows me to print in tiled sections. I recently make a 33"x102" banner using it (36- 8 1/2x11 sheets).
