Does anyone have a solution for Win10 DVD Player App problem

by jackiedick / August 12, 2015 10:37 AM PDT

I thought I'd share what I sent to Microsoft about the NEW WIN 10 DVD PLAYER APP--
MAJOR PROBLEMS with your Windows DVD Player App--- stepping back--- with Win7 you simply put a DVD in the slide and it plays (through Windows Media Player)—in the Win10 separate set up I find that bringing up the “app” prior to inserting my DVD makes playing much simpler (faster)—BUT HERE'S THE RUB--- I no longer can rely on just having a DVD app play the same ones I’ve played in WMP/Win7—what happens is in each case the playing starts ---it goes through the Warning stage and when the main feature starts it runs for a few seconds and this message appears, “Error Video could not be decoded”--- I have tried my computer generated DVD’s and it’s a every other one plays situation—so out of curiosity I played 3 DVD’s that I had on hand from Netflix-- two did not play (same error message) and one did—I then played a few commercial DVD’s and they worked well--- my problem is that I need the new Windows DVD Player to play all my discs plus Netflix--- I do hope there is a fix for this—a friend advised me that he read many, many others are having these problems-- dickb

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
