General discussion

Does anybody else see this (PVP)

Mar 10, 2006 3:33PM PST

I live in Alaska and where I live I don't have acess to see the Archos av500, or the Cowon A2, or the creative Zen, so I'm stuck watching these reviews off cnet. And video quality is a huge issue with me. So, something I noticed is that on the reveiws for the cowon and the av500 is the video seems to be pixelated or grainy when they show the movies. Can anybody confirm this or is this pixel look due my computer? And would someone recomend a pvp that I can put my dvd's from my computer to a device (pvp)?
Thanks guys...or gals

Cowon A2 (I personally own) : Is a video player first and foremost. Best quality on the market. The sound is also top notch, and the long battery life is amazing. I charge it probally once every week and I listen/watch for a good hr to hr a half per day. Also has an FM radio and the text feature is really nice. I can add notes to it and listen to music at the same time - I thought that was a nice touch. Overall I have no complaints about the Cowon A2.

The Archos AV500 tops cowon in the video recording department.

The Creative, well... It falls short in all aspects except maybe audio to the Archos and Cowon.

So, if you're looking for video quality, go for the Cowon. Looks absolutly amazing!

Cowon

I own the Cowon. It's an amazing picture. The Archos has a worse screen than the Cowon.

The cowon has a 16 million color screen. The archos only has a 262,144. So right there you can see that the Cowon screen is superior. It also has 10 hours of battery life. The archos only has 4.5. The Cowon cost a hundred dollors less as well. Cowon is defaintly a better choice as a video player.

Don't even consider creative. Inferious battery life, smaller scree, and inferior video quality. It's just pure crap.
