General discussion

does anybody else feel this way?

Vista is over the top on not allowing you to view/access files. I just tried to install Adobe reader, and it would not install until I reactivated my "user account control". Trying to share files was a mission also. I am sure for business users, these security options would be good, but for the home user, it seems over the top to me. I am spending more time, changing my security options than I am using the computer.

You have an option....

You do not have to use Vista, and feel good about it.

You could always turn it off

There is a way to turn those annoying pop ups off. They're more designed to warn users who have no computer experience whatsoever

I did turn it off

That's my point. I did turn it off, and I had to turn it back on to install Adobe Reader. Then I had to turn it off again.

I know what you mean

took me 2 hours to disable all the freaking security stuff. But I have also found that when installing software, I use the compatabily adjustment and install emulating XP Pro SPK 2. Seems to work like a charm.
