Larry, We're Getting Borderline Here....

And believe me, I know you're just trying to be helpful, and Donna's site is a good one, but the Forum Policies say this:

Posting Links

Our policy on linking to other forums is pretty simple. Members may link to any other site that provides information that helps answer another member's question or is just of general interest to members of that particular forum. One of the most basic tenets of the Web is the open exchange of information, and the CNET forum managers wholeheartedly support this type of exchange.

The only type of linking (besides porn and spam, of course) that will not be allowed on our site is when members solicit people to leave our site and join a competing service. That's just common sense.....

Personally, I would like to see an option where each forum could post "Sticky Notes" in that forum. A "Tips" section could easily be kept up and added to. Unfortunately, "Sticky's" aren't currently available to this forum software. Maybe some day.

The only other way that a "Tips" thread could be done currently, is by following the model that Bob Proffitt's "Parasite" thread is using. It is constantly "bumped" to the top of the page so everyone can read it. If the users here would like, we could start a thread for Tips and continually bump it when necessary.

If anyone else has any ideas, let's hear them, or better yet, post them in the "Forum Feedback" section at the link below. With a little pushing, maybe Lee Koo could get the "Sticky Notes" option added to the forum:

it is in a form of a message post like you did for the "Ctrl/Alt Shortcuts for Word Tips" thread. That would definitely be helpful to our community members.

Thanks!

Not for me, though.

There are so many tips and tricks available. I try to read them and then print out those I think I may use sometime. Then I can never find the darn thing anyway.

Computers are so time consuming and not all of us spend a great deal of time using one. I'd rather ask the question here and have to look at just one answer.

It's a good idea for those who are going to benefit from it. It just isn't my cup of tea. Happy
