while often believed to be a second full moon in a single month, is actually myth begun and perpetuated by Sky and Telescope Magazine about the end of WWII. But a full moon is actually the third full moon in a season which has four full moons and occurs between one Christmas and the next.
The myth may have been the birth of the [drive-by] media. Though I prefer to believe the [drive-by media] was born when Walter Cronkite took off his glasses on November 22, 1963 and some one decided that meant that reporters can act.
But the song brings back sweet memories.
