Do you know this process

by PETERRHUTCHINSON / November 20, 2006 4:22 AM PST

I have a process that runs on several of my computers that i can't identify. I use MS Windows Defender to see it and the icon displayed is a small dog (I think a scotty). I go out to delete the file, it's in C:\windows\temp and it comes back later with another name. Anyone have any idea's? The machines it runs on a very slow and I was think this might be the problem. Adaware, Trend Micro and MS Defender do not identify it. An help?

be a whole lot more specific.

If you happen to have installed WinPatrol, it does have a scotty icon.

Try telling us the name of the process.

Just type the name of the process into Google, or any other search engine you fancy, and you should be able to find all kinds of information on it. What it is, what it does, what program it's associated with, how to get rid of it if it's malware, etc.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
