Do you have an unusual beverage concoction?

Do you have an unusual beverage?

It may be the unforgivable sin, but for cold weather I?ll put a jigger of Black Label Scotch in hot rich soymilk with a touch of nutmeg (though not hot enough to evaporate the alcohol). Mmmmmmm...It tastes so good!

No, Paula.

But it has raised eyebrows when I've been seen eating a Three Musketeers candy bar while drinking a beer.Happy

I'm not that fond of beer in general (I like stout), so the candy gives it more of a palatable flavor. It works best with Three Musketeers as it is not as sweet as some others, and is not as sticky as those with caramel.

On second thought, I guess one could call that as unusual. Happy

...(since I gave up sugar). Which one is it that does have the caramel layer... is that the Milky Way? I used to keep those in the freezer.

Will warn you up if coming in from the cold.

Mug of hot coffee; add a shot of Covassier(sp); a shot of
Tia Maria; float top with whipped cream; spoon on a bit
of Creme de Minth.

I don't know too much about liquors but I do have a rather neat way to cool off a real hot cup of coffee. I usually drop in an ice cube but have discovered a good size dollop of chocolate ice cream does the same job plus add a delicious flavor.

Hmmmm Paula,

Well, I like Bacardi Limon rum with Fresca.

For a cold either Jezenowka (blackberry brandy) or a honey liquor (don't have any on hand so don't rember the name -- comes in a bottle with a hive-shaped cap) in a berry tea.

Had a green apple martini last time we visited my sister ... apparently these are all the rage with the hip crowd. I'm not sure exactly what went into the one I tried, so looked for recipes: http://www.bar.tv/features/finder_sour_apple.htm

I seem to recall the sour apple schnapps and melon liquor and vodka being used.

Speaking of the brother in law, he usually brings a stash of Snappy Tom which you are probably familiar with being from CA. It's a spicy tomatoe juice. Mixed about 1/2 and 1/2 with beer it's a good morning-after beverage. Hubby likes this more than I do. I stick to straight ice cold Campbells' matamo juice Happy

Of course a brain tumor is a tasty treat ... just looks kinda yucky! LOL http://www.obh.snafu.de/~solon/lofab/cocktails/cocktail_1177.html

Cheers!

Snap-E-Tom mixture
Dec 11, 2003 6:00AM PST

Some co-workers used to find a mixer for Tequila in Baja that tasted so unusual and intriguing. It was just like a half-and-half mixture of Snap-E-Tom and orange juice. Strange.

Actually, in recent years I haven't seen Snap-E-Tom on any shelves, but think it's still around.
