physx can be used to model more realistic interactions. along with explosions, demos show it assisting things like bounces/richochets, and fabric blowing in the wind.
physx for maya is in beta now. http://www.feelingsoftware.com/content/view/45/67/lang,en/
Do the new PhysX cards, (cards dedicated to physics) make any difference in 3d animation or is the only difference in games??
Will it improve digital animation in the future?
I am thinking about adding this card to my desktop configuration, I am a gamer and also a 3d animator. If all the card will do is help the physics out in games I think ill pass for now. If this improves physics in my own animations out of Maya, then I think I will pick it up now.
Does anyone know if this card works for animation and not just games? Will it work with Maya or programs like it?
thanks guys I apreciate it.
